The 18th China International Composites Industrial Technical Expo has been held in Shanghai World Expo Exhibition on Sept. 5th – 7th. The Expo is organized by China Composites Group Corporation Ltd., China Composite Industrial Association and Chinese FRP Society. The Expo has attracted 452 exhibitors from 19 different countries with the exhibition area up to 33500sqm. SYT45 (T700 grade) carbon fiber were unveiled for the first time at the expo and received significant attention.
Carbon fiber has been hailed as “the king of the new materials”. It is a kind of strategic advanced materials that could have both civilian and military applications and has been facing the foreign technology embargo for many years. Zhongfu Shenying Carbon Fiber Co., Ltd. is the only enterprise that can product T700 grade carbon fiber by dry-jet wet spin industrially in our country.
Mr. Zhang Guoliang, president of Zhongfu Shenying Carbon Fiber Co., Ltd. told the reporter that the company began work on the R&D of dry-jet wet spin of the SYT45 carbon fiber since 2008, and has invested15 million more in 2011 to upgrade the existing hundred-ton production line. After half a year’s research on the technical problems, the company made a great technological breakthrough in pre-oxidation process and SYT45 (T700 grade) high-performance carbon fiber has been produced on a wide scale since the beginning of 2012. .
“We will supply 50 ton T700 grade carbon fiber to the market monthly from this September, and by the end of 2013 it is expected to rise to 150 ton per month.” Zhang said. Some experts indicated that it is the first break in the commercial process of high performance carbon fiber, which is a milestone in the development of our composite materials industry.
According to Mr. Zhang Dingjin, the president of China Composites Group Corporation Ltd. (CCGC), the composite industry is under great pressure to protect its industry from slow growth and performance decline that effected by the national policy and market environment. Zhang said CCGC for several years and always stick to science and technology innovation in development. The company achieved the successfully installation of the 1.5MW, 3MW and 5MW blades, the mass production of Zhongfu Shenying’s carbon fiber and carbon core cable by its policy.
“The composite materials market in China is increasingly become the most important regional markets all around the world. Chinese market has become not only the initial issue place of the latest technology and products, but also the birthplace and touchstone of the technology and products.” Zhang said.
